Oxford Printmakers have a lovely exhibition at Cornerstone Arts Centre in Didcot, Oxfordshire. Here is a couple of screenprints that I have on display until 12 Nov.The first is a sunset over Cholsey hill with Wittenham Clumps and Didcot power station in the distance, and the second is of the Forty with a big conker tree in the centre of Cholsey, Oxfordshire.

Today I saw lots of wonderful faces from home on Skype, what a treat. Here are two screenprints I made recently of home. 'The Forty' is in the centre of Cholsey, with a big conker tree and pretty red brick cottages and a white picket fence, how quaint. 'In The Garden' is the abundant harvest of fruit and veg in my parents garden, particularly apples at this time of year, yum. Plus here are some photos of a dramatic shire autumn sunset over Cholsey with lovely clouds.

I have been designing honey labels for Mill Brook Apiary in Cholsey, Oxfordshire for several years and have built up a good collection of bee facts which go on all the jars.

Days Lock and Wittenham Clumps
This is a little series of digital illustrations inspired by a weekend on the Thames in the sunshine.

In July I spent the weekend on a boat on the river Thames for a really fun hen party. The weather and countryside was glorious and #boatlife was extremely enjoyable and relaxing. Of course, we needed matching hen party tshirts, so I drew and screen printed these nautical tattoo designs, featuring the anchor, nautical stars, shells, swallow, compass and flowers. They looked great with our captains' hats. Our Vessel, the Caversham Royal, with inflatable figurehead 'Graham', took us from Caversham to Abingdon and back, and activities included picnicing, drinking prosecco, waving at the riverbank folk and even a swim in the river.
These nautical tattoo designs are also available on phone cases, pillows, bags and shower curtains among other things in my Society6 shop!

New screenprint alert. I made this last week at Oxford Printmakers, inspired by a sunset I saw on a warm summer bike ride round the Shire. After the hard work going up the hill there is a really fun long downhill, but we had to stop to look back and admire the scene, with Didcot Power Station and Wittenham Clumps in the distance. It's for sale in the shop too.

The View From Quiet Lane illustration - Ginette Guiver
Here are some recent illustrations inspired by spring and summer bike rides around South Oxfordshire. Also inspired by the landscapes of 20th Century artist and illustrator Brian Cook. I love his bold, flat colours and shadows, and dramatic clouds! Our favourite cycle route goes over the Thames from Wallingford, through North Stoke and up into the Chilterns. There's a great view of the shire and Didcot Power Station from the quiet lane near The King William pub. Then a glorious downhill to Crowmarsh crossing the Ridgeway, a prehistoric walking route from Avebury.

Here is a screen print I made recently of a tranquil spot in my friend Lucy's garden by the river Thames in South Oxfordshire, it's the perfect place to sit with a refreshing beverage and watch the sun go down. I also used this on the front of a pretty wedding invitation design I have been working on for an eclectic outdoor wedding this summer by the river. This screenprint is available in my shop!

The Shire, screenprint
The Bird House, screenprint
It's getting to that time of year when the rapeseed fields turn really bright yellow back home in the shire, which inspired the colours in this three colour screen print 'The Shire'. I layered the blue and yellow to make the satisfying shade of green. The print also features conker tree blossoms and red kites in the sky. And Didcot Power Station, which appears on the horizon whenever I'm nearly home. The cooling towers are being knocked down so I thought it should be preserved on paper! This print is available as a greetings card and original screenprint in my shop.
"It is the color of ripe lemons and of egg yolks." I found this wonderfully poetic description of the colour yellow is from the fountain of knowledge that is Wikipedia. How lovely!
The final picture is another screen print I made a few years ago called 'The Birdhouse'. It also features some nice horse chesnut leaves, and the layers of blue and yellow to make green. Plus a cute little house for bluetits to live in.
