Hello I'm Ginette, I do graphic design, art, illustration and surface pattern design.
Here on my blog you can see the pictures i've been making, stuff I've been up to and the inspiration I found in my current home Whistler, Canada.
This is a recent flyer I designed for uWatch, a remote security system that can keep an eye on all sorts of things. Fitting a lot of text onto the flyer and making the information easy to read is always a satisfying challenge to complete.
Here is a little look at a big project I have been working on for Whistler Fitness Vacations. I created a new look and feel for the brand with beautiful and modern fonts and a lovely, inviting and functional colour palette, and also used some of my own photography of Whistler scenery. I worked on catalogues and a series of workbooks and the colours and design elements were also used across the new website and blog.
Bee.Watch is planning to make a difference to falling honeybee populations in the UK with a phone app and website which can help beekeepers find and collect swarms to replace dead hives, and help farmers and beekeepers communicate about pesticide spraying. I designed the logo, flyers and website to promote this super useful app. Plus these honeybee facts and figures.
Inspired by the coming of winter I've been having a look back at a magazine project I designed a few years ago full of snowboarding goodness in the Dolomites, Italy.
Here is a whole suite of wedding stationary that I designed this summer. It was such a pleasure to work on, with lovely personal inspiration from the bride and groom with their British and Sri Lankan heritage and a love of vintage decor. Plus I got special info from their florist so I could include all the wedding flowers in the floral pattern! The brides family run the fantastic Loddon Brewery near Reading, so instead of table numbers they had different Loddon beer names for each table, a really nice touch. You can find more info on personal and bespoke wedding stationary designs right here!
Here is my calendar page for May with a lovely quote from Nelson Mandela to inspire good decisions, with an illustration of wide open sky and possibilities.
I have been working on some tshirt designs inspired by retro sportswear and the wonderful skiing in Whistler Blackcomb, and they are all available to buy on ginette.threadless.com hooray!
I have been designing honey labels for Mill Brook Apiary in Cholsey, Oxfordshire for several years and have built up a good collection of bee facts which go on all the jars.
Here are some wedding invites I have been working on recently, fresh from the printers! The brief was; fun and modern, mint and coral, chevrons, no swirly fonts, and including a view of the beautiful venue. The couple have a house full of lovely mid-century modern style furniture and patterns, so I looked at mid-century design as inspiration for the chevron pattern and the illustration style. This was such a fun challenge and it's really exciting to see it all printed and ready to post.
